Renowned cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on political leaders to confront the issues affecting governance, warning that fear of powerful individuals weakens their authority.
Speaking in a recent address, Ayodele said: “Problems in your government but you are not bold enough to talk. You are afraid of them. The more you are afraid of them, the more power you are giving them, the more you are losing.”
He criticised leaders for focusing on the wrong political figures while neglecting those who wield real influence. “You are not facing Jonathan. No, It is Atiku that you will face”, Ayodele stated, in a recent video on Facebook.
The cleric further warned that empowering certain political actors strengthens their influence over the government. “And the fool is they are ready to stand by him and you are giving the full power”, he added.
